Why We Started Donate My Wardrobe
Most of us have clothes in our wardrobes that we don’t wear anymore—but we can’t quite bring ourselves to throw them away.
They’re still good quality. Still in great condition. Still too nice to end up in landfill.
But at the same time, selling them ourselves can feel overwhelming. Taking photos, writing listings, answering messages, arranging pick-ups or postage… it’s enough to make those clothes sit in the cupboard for another year.
That’s where the idea for Donate My Wardrobe began.
A Simpler Way to Do Good
We wanted to create something simple.
A way for people on the Sunshine Coast to clear out their wardrobes without the hassle of selling items themselves, while also knowing their clothing is going towards something meaningful.
So instead of clothes sitting unused or ending up in landfill, we collect them, sort them, and sell quality pieces through pre-loved fashion racks at Thrifter AU.
The process is simple: your wardrobe → our hands → new life for your clothes → funding for community projects.
Reducing Waste, One Wardrobe at a Time
The fashion industry creates a huge amount of waste, and even the most well-intentioned people often don’t know what to do with clothing they no longer wear.
Donate My Wardrobe is about giving those items a second chance.
By keeping quality clothing in circulation, we reduce textile waste and extend the life of garments that still have so much value left in them.
Every item saved from landfill matters. Every bag donated makes a difference.
Turning Clothing Into Community Impact
What makes this project different is what happens after the clothes are sold.
All profits, after essential costs like rack hire, are donated directly to local community projects and charitable initiatives.
Instead of general fundraising, we focus on specific, tangible goals—things people can understand and get behind. Whether it’s funding support programs, community services, or meaningful local initiatives, every campaign has a clear purpose and outcome.
This means your old clothes don’t just disappear into a donation bin—they become part of something bigger.
Too Good to Throw Away, Too Hard to Sell
We know the feeling:
That jacket you haven’t worn in years but still love.
The dress that doesn’t quite fit anymore.
The pile of “someday I’ll list this online” clothes.
Donate My Wardrobe exists for those moments.
We take care of everything so you don’t have to.
No photos. No listings. No marketplace messages. Just a simple pick-up service and a clear purpose behind every item you donate.
A Local Idea With a Local Impact
We are proud to be based on the Sunshine Coast, collecting from Caloundra through to Noosa Heads and surrounding suburbs.
This is a community-driven initiative, powered by local donations and focused on supporting local needs.
Every wardrobe donated helps us move closer to funding real, measurable impact in our own backyard.
One Wardrobe Can Change More Than You Think
A single clean-out might not feel like much—but when hundreds of wardrobes come together, it becomes something powerful.
Less waste. More purpose. Real community support.
That’s what Donate My Wardrobe is about.
Turning forgotten clothing into meaningful change—one wardrobe at a time.
